IIOT/MQTT/Historian

LabTime - This is my idea of the ideal MQTT solution to automate a laboratory or factory.  Virtually all communications between applications is through the MQTT broker. LabTime is composed of these three websites:

• labtime.org - Drupal 10 Site for documentation and promotion
• app.labtime.org - JavaScript React HMI/UI dashboards
• labtime.org:3000 - Grafana dashboards

I started learning Drupal 12 years ago building a site for a Dairy Equipment business.  They had 30,000 high resolution images stored in files and needed a way to index, view, and edit them.  I used the media module to create a library of images, documents, and videos.  I created the Imager module, a JavaScript program which allows users to easily view and edit high resolution images within Drupal.  The site grew to saving documents, employee records, vehicle records, etc.

LabTime is a set of applications that monitor, control and display the state of an experiment or production process.  LabTime receives sensor readings (temperatures, voltages, etc) from Edge devices such as arduinos, PLC's, etc.  These readings are sent to a historian time-series database where it can be analyzed using Grafana, a multi-database dashboarding tool.

All inter-process communications in LabTime are done using MQTT.  This is the IOT way of connecting devices, programs, etc. from all over the world.

Atomizer is a JavaScript program created to display 3D simulations of scientific theories.  The Atomizer uses the freely available "three.js" library.  Three.js is a cross-browser JavaScript library and application programming interface (API) used to create and display animated 3D computer graphics in a web browser using WebGL.

When the basis for most of our scientific theories were developed we knew very little about electricity.  It's not surprising Einstein talks very little about plasma, study of plasma was just beginning when he died.

This site explores the idea that electricity is everywhere - in geology, the weather, biology, cosmology and in the stories of our myths and religion.

It's all electric!!
